Vacancies: Estate Foreman and Housekeeper

An opportunity has arisen for a Housekeeper/Administrator and Maintenance Foreman on the West Coast of Scotland. The positions, ideal for a couple, are on the 14,000 acre family estate at Glenure, Fasnacloich, Appin, PA38 4BJ. Accommodation is available.

Job description: Housekeeper/Administrator

Cleaning

General cleaning and change overs at Glen Ure Lodge

Laundry

All Bedroom and Bathroom linens, Laundry

Cooking

For guests and family when in residence as required.

Maintenance

Working alongside other members of staff, however it will be the housekeeper's responsibility to undertake the following:

• Internal window cleaning (external done by a contractor once a year).

• General cleaning of all rooms.

• Cleaning and polishing of any belongings required

• Making and lighting of fires

• Check attics and rooms for leaks and manage ventilation

• Shopping for family and guests when required

General maintenance of estate property

There will be a requirement to undertake some regular checks and maintenance on properties where possible including but not limited to:

• Checking roofs

• Clearing gutters and downpipes

• External painting

• Checking water supplies, monitor summer water levels.

• Providing meter readings as a when required for all properties on the estate.

• Clear out and clean all fires and stoves and relay so ready.

Wider estate jobs

• Maintenance to roads and tracks (digger work)

• Clearing branches and growth from roads and tracks.

• Check fencing and maintain where required

• Clearing ditches

Tools, Equipment and Vehicles

• Keep all tools, equipment, and vehicles in a clean and tidy condition

• Arrange/ undertake annual service of all estate vehicles and equipment.

The individuals will be required to work on their own and work well within a team, with a can-do attitude.

Remuneration

A competitive remuneration package is provided as well as a three bedroom property with free council tax, telephone line rental and logs.
